PROFILE: Sarah Lamerton
I have taught all year groups in inner city schools over the course of the last 16 years. I currently teach Year 2. I am also Maths Lead at Ford Primary School and am part of the Maths and Oracy Hubs. I have successfully led Maths, RE, Oracy, Educational Visits, MFL, Goegraphy, History and the School Council over the years and successfully led our school through an RE Ofsted subject inspection. I have since led a number of school improvement areas in our school. Since becoming Maths Lead I have attended numerous Maths conferences, courses and observed good practice of the teaching of Maths in a number of different settings. I have a wealth of knowledge and expertise in this area.
As an SLE I have supported a number of schools with Maths and Oracy. I have led the Maths School Direct training for the last 4 years which I thoroughly enjoy doing. It gives me a great sense of accomplishment to support others and put my knowledge of the teaching of the subject to good use. I have recently taken part in the Oracy Project which has been an amazing journey. It has changed and shaped the way I teach and I look forward to sharing this with the teachers and children I support.
As a part of the Maths Hub I have organised a variety of conferences for teachers in the Plymouth and surrounding areas. I have organised and led the Times Table Rock Star Red Carpet Event for Plymouth over the last 4 years which has been enjoyed by many schools and children.

MY SUCCESS STORIES
I have supported a number of schools in their teaching of Maths. It has been a pleasure to see the confidence of the teachers I have worked with.
The students on the School Direct course have given good feedback about the Maths sessions I have led and I have enjoyed tailoring the course to suit the group’s needs. It has been a great experience to help shape and mould the teachers coming into the profession.
More recently I have supported a couple of schools taking part in the Oracy Project and this has been very fulfilling to see the journey these schools have made particularly when recommendations have worked well within the schools! It was a real privilege to work with teachers within their own schools and within the cluster group I led. To provide a good network for teachers aiming to achieve a common thing was something quite special.
