Maths Across the Curriculum

Target Audience: KS1 teachers and TAs, KS2 teachers and TAs, Maths Subject Leads, Senior Leaders

Event Description: With a renewed focus on the high-quality provision and outcomes for subjects across the curriculum, this course will explore the links between maths, English, art, music and science in a creative, imaginative and practical way, through focusing on mathematical patterns that are inherent in each subject. It will also aim to illustrate the awe and wonder of maths and how it can excite, inspire and enrich our own and children’s experiences.

Aims/Objectives: “Pupils should make rich connections across mathematical ideas to develop fluency, mathematical reasoning and competence in solving increasingly sophisticated problems. They should also apply their mathematical knowledge to science and other subjects.”

NC 2014. Support teachers in exploring maths throughout other subjects, in order to help schools to develop a rich and high-quality curriculum provision.
