Developing Fluency Through Games

Inviting all teachers and teaching assistants to a creative workshop in the effective use of maths games to raise attainment.

Jo Boaler (2016) states that the best mathematics classrooms are those in which pupils learn number facts and develop number sense through engaging activities that focus on mathematical understanding rather than rote learning.

This workshop aims to increase awareness of the importance of games in the national curriculum for mathematics. We will explore the use of a range of games to engage children, develop fluency, conceptual understanding and elicit thinking. We will also explore how they can support children to work independently and collaboratively.

This is a fantastic opportunity for free, high quality CPD being offered by the PTSA Primary Maths Hub.  30 places are available to book and will be issued on a first come, first served basis.
